Jacquelyn's obituary
Jacquelyn Siplin Scurry passed away peacefully on December 1, 2023, at the age of 88, in Sarasota, FL. She was born on April 10, 1935, to the late John and Margaret Siplin.
Jacquelyn was a kind and loving soul who touched the lives of many. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and her family meant everything to her. She will be remembered for her unwavering love, selflessness, and gentle nature.
Growing up, Jacquelyn had a passion for learning and excelled in her studies. She went on to earn a degree in education from the University of Florida, and her love for teaching led her to a fulfilling career as an elementary school teacher. She was loved by her students and colleagues, and her dedication to her profession was admired by all.
In her free time, Jacquelyn enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She had a green thumb and could often be found tending to her beautiful flower garden. She also had a love for travel and enjoyed exploring new places and cultures.
Jacquelyn was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, James Scurry. She is survived by her daughter, Gabrielle Jahme Scurry, who was her pride and joy.
A funeral service will be held in honor of Jacquelyn's life on December 5, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Sarasota Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Jacquelyn. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
