JACQUELYN's obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jacquelyn "Ann" O'Steen, who left us peacefully on April 21, 2023. Born on November 20, 1935, Jacquelyn preferred to be called Ann, although she was known to many as Memaw. She is survived by her loving children, Richard Maxey, Terri Jennings and Noel Ann Wright, their spouses David Jennings, Matt Wright and daughter in law Gina Maxey. Also, her beloved grandchildren, Noel, Jude, Kaia, Josh, Katlyn, Sydney, Nicole and Laura and great grandchildren, Lincoln, Terra, Milo, Nora and (one on the way).

There are many “Memaw” stories to share.  She was compassionate, funny, and a lively person who loved to have a good time and play cards. One of the most valuable lessons she shared with others was the belief that "there is always room at the table for one more." With this mindset Memaw created a welcoming atmosphere for everyone she encountered.

Among her greatest accomplishments, Ann was incredibly proud of raising her “half dozen”children and wrote a poem titled “MY HALF DOZEN”. Her legacy, however, goes far beyond her achievements as a mother. Ann’s devotion to following Christ touched the lives of countless others along her journey, including her grandchildren and friends.

In heaven, Ann has been given the special task of caring for all stray animals, a role perfectly suited for DUE TO HER EXHAUSTIVE EXPERIENCE ON EARTH.  She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and faith that will be cherished by her family and all those who knew her.
