Jacquelyn's obituary
Jacquelyn Sue Fortenberry (Supinger), age 59, passed away in Midland, TX on Wednesday May 14th, 2025.
Jacque was born on December 23rd, 1965 to James Lee Supinger and Jennifer Sue Supinger (Groce) in Albany, Missouri. She was the oldest of three children, which included her younger brothers Jon and Jeremy Supinger. She grew up in Grant City, Missouri where she attended high school at Worth County R-III SR High and graduated in 1984. As a sister, Jacque was protective and loving of her younger brothers but there would be normal sibling squabbles and banter. She is remembered by many as a loyal friend and protector of those friends. Jacque was a strong-minded young woman, worked hard toward her goals, would find many adventures in Grant City with friends and family, and had a touch of tomboy in her. In high school, Jacque was on the track and field team where she broke many state records and became a top athlete that excelled in fast sprints and long jump. One state record still stands in the top 20 records for the Girls Worth County team, that Jacque competed with in 1984, for the girls 4x200 Meter relay at 1:47.07 minutes.
After Jacque graduated high school, she moved to Midland, TX and got married and began to build a family and life in west Texas. She had three beautiful children, Hannah, Laramie, and Jack. Jacque was a stern but caring mother, having high expectations for her children in school and as people. She made many memories with her family and friends at the lake, racing in the street with her children and of course leaving them in the dust, late night walks with her kids where she got a wild hair and tackled an inflatable Santa Claus, and every year she loved baking Christmas sweets for neighbors and friends during the holiday season. She really enjoyed baking and cooking and was great at both and passed that knowledge down to her kids. She worked for many years at UPS as a delivery driver, working long hours in the hot Texas heat, and often coming home to help with homework and cook a meal for her family almost every night except for a weekly Mexican dinner out. Jacque embodied the mindset that a woman can do hard work and was not afraid of it. She loved to play solitaire, would often beat the contestants at answering on jeopardy and wheel of fortune, and enjoyed keeping her mind busy with word puzzles.
Jacque is survived by her three children, Hannah Cain (Jason Cain), Laramie Macias (Colter Macias), and Jack Groom (Clarissa Groom). Her grandchildren, Emma Cain, Grayson Cain, Dilyn Groom, Cara Macias and Patrick Groom. Her brothers Jon Supinger (Shannon Supinger) and Jeremy Supinger. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and her longtime boyfriend and best friend Barrett Ryder.
Jacque is preceded in death by her father James Supinger and mother Jennifer Andreson and her grandparents.
The family will have a private service at a later date.
