Jacqueline's obituary
Jacqueline Alice Michelin passed away on October 21, 2021. Born in France on November 28, 1924 and becoming an orphan at the age of 14 she lived a trialed life throughout France and had survived WWII as a daughter of Jewish decent. She entered America at the age of 21 after marrying her first husband and soon after fell in love with show business.
Jacqueline became a well-known cabaret nightclub singer, known as Jacqueline Jourdan and toured country after country bringing a little bit of France and a lot of personality to each place she travelled. Often referred to as a Parisian canary she sang her way throughout the European and American circuits and dazzled her audience with her sultry vocals and cheeky personality.
Jacqueline lived much of her life in New York City and her later years were spent in Florida where she was actively involved with the community cultural center and performed weekly into her 90’s. At age 86 she released the memoir Frenchie telling the stories of her wondrous life lived.
She is survived by her 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
She was loved dearly by close friends and family and will be deeply missed.
