Jacqueline Llewellyn Carrington-Horsford, born on October 28, 1951, was a woman of remarkable strength, compassion, and quiet wisdom. She lived a life devoted to service—rooted in deep love for her family, unwavering dedication to her community, and a calling to care for others that defined her life’s work.
Raised in Moriah, Tobago, Jacqueline was shaped by strong values that guided her throughout every chapter of life. A lifelong learner and high achiever, she distinguished herself academically as a Valedictorian and graduated Summa Cum Laude at both the undergraduate and master’s levels from Medgar Evers College, reflecting her discipline, intellect, and commitment to excellence.
For over 40 years, she served with distinction as a Head Nurse, Midwife, and Healthcare Executive, dedicating her career to the healing, support, and advocacy of others. Her professional journey spanned Trinidad and Tobago, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America, where she touched countless lives through compassionate care, strong leadership, and unwavering professionalism. Whether welcoming new life into the world, guiding healthcare teams, or offering comfort and dignity to those in need, her impact was both profound and far reaching.
Above all else, Jacqueline’s greatest joy was her sons and family. She was a devoted and loving mother whose sacrifices, guidance, and steadfast support formed the foundation of her family’s strength. Her home was a place of warmth, wisdom, and unconditional love, and she took deep pride in nurturing and providing for those she held dear.
Jacqueline has left to mourn her sons: Lyndon, Brent, Colin, and Dale Horsford, former husband: Horace Horsford, brothers: Brian Kerr and Addison Toppin, nieces: Alysa and Madison Kerr, nephew :Jason Warner(JP), sister-in-law Susann Wylie-Kerr and Ulin Toppin, cousins: Vaughn, Veron, and Caron Lyons; Phern, Otto, Peron, Audette, Cheryl, Gillian and Venerable Phillip Isaac; Jerry Celestine, Jennifer Blackman, Joan Christian, Denise Deland, Debbie, Odette and Ivy McKnight, Sean Jack, Roland Holder and many others.
