Jac's obituary
Jacqueline "Jac" Burchell passed away on December 15, 2022 at the age of 29, following a 5-year battle with uterine cancer and the complications of treatment.
Jac was born in Plano, Texas, on March 1, 1993 to Mike and Marion Burchell. Jac was a fierce and strong athlete, playing volleyball and basketball for a number of years. Jac was also a talented artist, an avid cosplayer who designed and sewed most of the outfits worn at conventions, and a person who placed family and friends at the top of any priority list.
After graduating from Plano East Senior High School in 2011, Jac worked in a variety of customer-service focused jobs. Jac’s most recent job was with Chewy.com, and we are very grateful for the support provided there for Jac’s treatment and recovery.
After Jac was diagnosed, the warrior spirit was on full display. The strength that Jac had to continue this war, battle by battle, was truly inspirational. When we were told that hospice was the next step in the journey, Jac visited with Dad, Joe, and Jen/Andrew to let them know where we were and what was next.
Jac’s memory will forever be cherished by proud parents Mike and Marion (Beth) Burchell, siblings Jennifer Garcia, Andrew Garcia, Joe Burchell, and Melissa Burchell, as well as niece Jasmine Burchell and nephews Brett Burchell, Grayson Burchell, and Weston Burchell, our beloved Nana (Betty Burchell), Jac’s fiancée, Dorian Graves, aunts Pamela Pittmon, Terri Hebel, and Susan Draper, uncles Wesley Pittmon and Robert Draper, cousins Amber Pittmon Daub and Elizabeth Pittmon, and a host of wonderful friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital to support cancer research without regard to profits.
