Jacque's obituary
Jacque Lee Salamy (Noll) passed away at the age of 78, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and warmth. Born and raised in Arizona, Jacque was a proud native of Mesa and a graduate of Mesa High School "Carry On". She ventured forth to Oklahoma State University for her undergraduate degree, then Oklahoma University for her graduate finally followed by Oklahoma Medical School where she passionately pursued her career in speech pathology, a field she would leave an indelible mark upon.
Jacque grew up as the oldest of three and leaves behind a brother and sister whom she loved dearly. Her love for Arizona was deeply founded in that of her family and after years away for college, first careers, marriage and a lot of life, she brought her and her daughter "home" to AZ to be close to her parents and sister in 1992. Jacque was basically starting over, but handled life and what it threw at her with such grace, nothing seemed out of her control or decision preview. It didn't take long at all for her to fall back in line with the majority of her childhood friends, make new ones, and become a part of Mesa once more. She worked in the Mesa Public School system for several years and a member of the Chapter K P.E.O. Jacque didn't leave Mesa again until 2014 when she jetted over to Chandler to be closer to Elissa and her family.
Jacque's professional journey as a speech pathologist was more than just a vocation; it was a calling. Through her work, she touched countless lives, leaving behind a trail of grateful hearts. For what better gift can you provide, than to help someone find the ability to express their own thoughts and feelings through words. She literally gave a voice to the voiceless!
Jacque's life-changing care extended further than speech pathology. Perhaps Jacque's true joy and lasting influence stemmed from her role as a beloved mother and grandmother. To her grandchildren, she wasn't just a grandmother; she was the co-parent for the first 13 years of their lives. To her daughter she was the best example of nonjudgemental love, support, guidance and unwavering commitment to her daughter's happiness. She was the epitome of fun and love. Her laughter and playful spirit created cherished memories and is a lasting example of sacrificial care. Jacque loved her independence and wore it well but she did love the times that she shared her home with us. She and her oldest grandson were roommates for several years even joined for a time by her oldest granddaughter. The last 18 months of Jacque's life were spent in the home of her daughter and family and that time will remain a gift.
As we say goodbye and celebrate the life Jacque Lee Salamy, we remember her for the profound love she shared, the lives she enriched, and the laughter she brought into this world. Her legacy of kindness and devotion will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who were fortunate to have been touched by her warmth and grace.
Jacque will be dearly missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives she profoundly influenced. Her memory will live on in the lives she touched and the echoes of her laughter that will continue to resonate through time.
