I missed Jay’s passing and was just looking him up and am sad to see this. I’m sorry to see he’s gone. We worked together: he was so fun to joke around with, I still think about a few of our conversations. He talked about his daughters Grace and Eleanor frequently and with fondness. I’m sad tonight. He was great fun and the world is worse without him.
Jay was a fraternity brother of mine at Allegheny College and it's very good to hear that he met with uncommon professional success and family Jo contentment. At my bequest he wrote a computer program (I paid him) that statistically showed that the hypothesis of my senior thesis was wrong. I was a year behind Jay and the other fraternity brothers who have offered condolences. They were an extraordinary cast of creative, entertaining, unruly, fearless characters. They, and most definitely Jay, left an indelible imprint on my psyche.
Jay was a friend of a buddy of mine named Richard Wiggins. In Michigan around 1980, the three of us (plus others) were involved in some escapades. One that I remember involved a speeding car, a radar detector, a flashlight chosen for its similarity to the radar detector, and a hat that just fit over the radar detector.
Four years with Brother Jay at Allegheny and a lifetime of smiles. A wonderful and truly unique guy. My warmest thoughts and condolences to his daughters and those fortunate enough to have had Jay touch their lives.
You have my sincere condolences. I was a fraternity brother of Jay's at Allegheny and his intelligent and irreverent sense of humor will be greatly missed.
My sincere condolences to your family for your loss. Jay and I were roommates while he was at b Allegheny and were friends the rest of our time together. I have lost someone I will miss more t Han I can say.
