Morgan's obituary
>My godmother, Jacqlyn Morgan Alexandra, passed away in Sausalito, California USA while sailing with friends. A graduate of Sonoma State University, Morgan obtained her California teaching credential, then moved to Reno, Nevada USA in 1992, obtained her Nevada real estate Broker’s license, began investing in residential real estate, and became a full-time professor at then Morrison University. Morrison was started in Reno as the Nevada Business Institute in 1902 at what is now Sierra and Sixth streets.
Morgan loved gardening and trading various plants with Reno neighbors and friends, Yoga, ballroom dancing, her cats, walking with her dog, teaching, and her classic vehicle.
Morgan was preceded in death by her only child, son Ken, who passed at age 19 from Covid while attending school in Italy during the Covid-19 pandemic. She never recovered from that.
She’d previously donated her Life Estate in one of her Reno rentals she owned free and clear to a needy Veteran, and all of her money to various Reno charities.
A Celebration of Life was held at Galilee Harbor, Sausalito, California USA.
Morgan had previously left the request that flowers or trees be planted in her memory.
Professor Jacqlyn "Morgan" Alexandra passed away June 2025 in Sausalito, California USA at the age of 71. An educator until the very end, Morgan made sure to leave a lifetime's worth of knowledge in the form of many free-form lectures and conversations. Morgan thrived on the discussion of ideas both as an individual and as a professional, enthralled with her chosen career path of being a professor. Morgan spent much of her time dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and the assistance of others who were in that same pursuit. She positively influenced the lives of so many and was loved and adored by countless students who reached out to her over the years, long after they'd graduated and left the program.
After retirement, Morgan, a lifelong Democratic Socialist and Liberal Progressive, spent the rest of her fun-filled time on Earth exploring national parks, visiting universities she wanted to learn more about, sailing, and advocating for Democratic and Liberal Progressive beliefs. Never stop learning, or advocating for Democracy!
