Jake's obituary
We mournfully announce the passing of Jacob “Jake” Matthew Tiffany, 46, of San Diego, California. Jake passed away on October 14, 2021, after a hard fought battle that he couldn’t win. Jake, born to Kathleen and Thomas, took his first breath on March 19, 1975 under the waxing crescent moon.
Jake grew up in San Diego and spent the remainder of his life there. He graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Business. Before his long career as a local real estate agent, he had a job doing land grading, as well as serving as a bartender to pay his way through university. Jake loved the interaction with people that his real estate career gave him, and he especially loved taking on “difficult” clients. He enjoyed the challenge.
When Jake was not selling real estate, he was an avid surfer, kite surfer, golfer, skateboarder, snowboarder, spiritual seeker, life coach, and yogi. He loved a good self-help book or personal growth seminar, always willing to share his insights with those he loved. Jake delighted in trying new foods, travelling, and playing board games, especially chess. He was highly competitive at sports and games, not shying away from basking in his winning glory.
While Jake’s cheekiness may have gotten him into loads of trouble as a young man, as an adult, his wit and humor cheered and entertained his friends and colleagues. His jokes and witty observations will be remembered by those who loved him as his most endearing quality.
While Jake never married, he lived a full life with more friends than you could count. His nephew and niece meant more to him than words can describe. We will miss him dearly.
Services will be held at Tom Ham’s Lighthouse, Jake’s favorite place for Sunday Brunch, on Friday November 12th at 4:30 p.m.
