Jacob's obituary
Jacob "Jakie/Daddy" Strickland, born October 17, 1989, sadly passed away on February 1, 2020. Known fondly as Jakie or Daddy, Jacob's dynamic personality and boundless love for his family will be forever remembered and cherished.
Jacob is survived by his loving wife, Sierra Strickland, his two treasures of daughters, Kiersten and Kendra Strickland. His brothers, Joey and Cj Strickland, his mother, Anne Marie Lovejoy, his father, Chris Strickland, his grandmother, Libby Pauly, his grandfather, Grandpa Strickland, his niece, Delani Maddie and his nephew, Cohen Eli.
He was predeceased by his grandmother, Grandma Strickland, and cousin, Ben Strickland, who surely welcomed him with love.
Jacob was a family man, first meeting his soulmate Sierra Pickens on June 2, 2007 after 11 years later and with the birth of his first born child Kiersten on February 28, 2010, then two years later welcoming their second child Kendra on Nov 19, 2012. They tied the knot on Love Day (Jacob asked Sierra(Cc) to be his forever) he wanted her for Valentine's Day on Feb 14, 2016 Jacob and Sierra got married that being one of his 3 greatest accomplishments. His zest for life was contagious, reflected in his love for his wife and kids, outdoors,Red Bull, the music of Eminem, TV show NCIS, and The Christmas movie. Christmas time was his favorite time of year!
A Patriot's fan, Jacob, enjoyed a game of checkers and spending quality time with his family. Active and energetic, he loved running and playing ball with his kids. His preferred vacation spots were Hawk’s Nest and the beach. Locally, playing with his kids was his most cherished activity.
His favorite color was green, and his personality was best described as funny, goofing off all the time, always making everyone smile. Lite up every room he walked into. He lived by the philosophy that life is too short to be depressed and unhappy, reminding everyone that tomorrow is never promised. His advice to all was to express love freely and frequently.
Jacob leaves behind a legacy of greatness as an amazing father and husband. He will be profoundly missed, but never forgotten.
