Jacob H. Schneider 73, of Merrill passed away September 21, 2020 peacefully at his home under the care of hospice. He was born April 11, 1947 to Jacob & Evelyn Schneider in Stockton, CA and moved to Schofield, WI as a young boy.
Jacob graduated from D.C. Everest and was a very proud "mighty evergreen". After graduation he was drafted into the army and served his country in Vietnam.
In 1979 he married Lori A. Hofmann at Trinity Lutheran Church Merrill.
Jacob was a handy man and had several different jobs. He was a roofer for Crown Roofing and then was employeed at Anderson Brother & Johnson's quarry and later went down town to the shop where he polished, cut grave stones where he retired at the time of closing.
He had several hobbies, fishing, camping, spending time with family and friends, but most of all he enjoyed his lawn mowers and helping people fix theirs, anyone who knew him knew right where to find him, in his garage. He enjoyed the great outdoors and wildlife.
Jacob is survived by his wife Lori A. Schneider of 40 years, daughter Gabrielle Opper (Casey Opper)Merrill WI, son Adam Schneider (Kayla Anderson) Williston ND, sister Mary Silvis (Robert Peterson)Wausau WI, sister in law Diann Hoffman St. Paul MN, and brother in law John Bentz (Barb Dallman Weston WI.
Grandchildren Hunter Opper, Caleb Opper, Jacob A. Schneider, Bowen Schneider, and Waylon Schneider.
Jacob was processed in death by his parents, step father, in-laws, sister, aunts and uncles.
No funeral services for Jacob as this was his request and we are following his wishes. Celebration of life at later date.
