Jay's obituary

On January 26th, 2022, Heaven gained an Angel with a huge heart, Jacob (Jay) Aaron Coker.

Born on January 26th, 1987, to Charles (Chip) Warren Coker, Jr., and Robin Andrews Noll.

Jay had a strong faith, reading scripture was part of his daily routine. His loves were his family and carpentry. He made his way in the construction world and put his mark on many construction projects around this city—from residential homes to commercial businesses such as American Family Gyms. What an awesome deck he would design and build and what a hard worker he was-- not to mention a perfectionist. He was always so very particular and meticulous about the projects he created, whether it was a small deck or million-dollar home.

For those who knew Jay well, they know of his love for baseball (Atlanta Braves) and football (particularly the Miami Dolphins, but he had several). When he was younger, he played both sports. He was a great pitcher, short-stop, all around baseball player. In football, well he was a little small, but did well as the quarterback.

He will be remembered by his wife, Morgan Dell Coker; his mother, Robin Noll and stepfather David; his father, Charles “Chip” Coker and stepmother Maria; his children: Noah and Peyton; brothers and sisters: Chad Coker, Benton Noll, Caylie Coker, Jamie Noll and stepsister, Amber Nollace. His grandmother, Patricia “Pat” Andrews (which he called “Poo”); aunts and uncles: Susan Andrews, Roy Walls Jr, (Bonita), John Andrews (Denise), Kevin Andrews (Sheila), Lynn Harris (Mike), Lisa Coker (Harold), Tony Knighten (Cheryl). A host of cousins, those close were Tiffany Daly (Bryan) and Bryon Possich, so many more though-- please know his love for all of you.

Taken all too soon and loved so much, he will surely be missed but not forgotten as God has taken him home.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 10th from 6pm – 8pm at Affinity Funeral Service.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 11th at 1pm at Good News Free Will Baptist Church at 5200 Courthouse Rd, Chesterfield, VA 23832.
