Jacob's obituary
May 29, 1952 – July 20, 2025
Jacob Cohen, a devoted father, grandfather, veteran, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, after a courageous battle with colon cancer. He was 73 years old.
Born on May 29, 1952, Jacob lived a life defined by strength, service, and compassion. He proudly served his country in the military and later dedicated more than 30 years to law enforcement. Throughout his long and respected career, he served as a police officer, school resource officer, and private investigator. Known for his dedication and heart, Jacob was deeply respected in the community. He often took on detective-style work, conducting stakeouts and investigations with focus and integrity.
Beyond his service, Jacob was a loving father and a grandfather to many. He was a big-hearted man who always put others before himself. He was kind, dependable, and thoughtful—yet unafraid to stand his ground when it mattered. Known affectionately as a “teddy bear,” he brought comfort and joy to those around him.
Jacob had a deep love for music. As a DJ, he filled many rooms with soul, country, and old-school favorites that reflected his personality—warm, real, and timeless. He also found peace in nature and preferred the quiet calm of life away from the city.
He is survived by his children, grandchildren, and a wide circle of friends and loved ones who were touched by his generosity, wisdom, and laughter. To know Jacob was to experience love, loyalty, and light.
Jacob Cohen was more than his titles—he was a presence, a protector, and a man who truly lived with heart. His memory will live on in every life he touched.
