Kayleigh,
I can’t imagine how hard this must be for you and your family. You and the boys are in our thoughts. You’re an incredible person and we all miss you.

I am so very sorry for such an incomprehensible loss.
When Kayleigh came to work at the clinic, it was a time when nurses were very hard to find. Yet, out of nowhere, we had the best nurse I’ve ever met. She took great care of my 4 kids. Then, I got to meet Jake, and it all made sense. They were a package deal, and their life trajectory together brought them to the door of our clinic family. How lucky we were for this to happen.
As Jake’s doctor, I only was able to meet with him twice over the last 3 years, but I could see everything great about him. He was a very gifted man, and he spent his life giving those gifts to as many people as he could. That’s a good life, however short it was. I’m deeply saddened that I could never see the darkness; that I never saw his pain and I never will be able to help him.
Life is crazy. You never know what will happen to anyone at any time. You can only be thankful for every moment, every ability, every person you have for as long as you have them.
I’m thankful for Jake, Kayleigh, Brooks, and Myles for every wonderful moment they’ve given to our whole clinic family.

Joey and family -
I’m heartbroken to hear of the loss of Jake. Growing up in the cripple creek neighborhood through years plus years and years of school, Jake’s memory will not be forgotten. Sending comfort to the whole family during this devastating time.
Love and prayers,

I had a lot of classes with Jake in high school and I ended up sitting in his vicinity due to common friends on a couple occasions, but it didn’t take long before I would make sure I sat by him when given the chance. I don’t think I would’ve been able to identify why at the time but looking back now I think I can understand why.
Jake was magnetic. Not in an outspoken, center of attention kind of way, but a very laid back, natural way. He had a great balance about him. He was very funny with great one liners, usually delivered with a wry kind of smile. He seemed effortlessly smart, but never made a show of it or held it over others’ heads. He could fit into any conversation but would never take it over. I never felt like I had to try to impress him, it was always an easy talking with him. I’m guessing that a lot of others felt this way to, like they could be the real them with Jake. It would’ve been hard not to honestly, and people like that are a gift to everyone around them.
I cannot express how deeply sorry I am to all the people lucky enough to have been apart Jake’s day to day life. May you find some semblance of peace in all the lives that I’m sure Jake had a truly positive effect on.

Mister was a great person all around. Funny, caring, super intelligent and all around a joy to be around. One of the best instructors I’ve ever had and the kind of leader that everyone strives to be. He wasn’t in my life long, but made a huge impact. The world is going to miss you so much buddy.

MISTER was one of a kind. I looked up to him as an aviator and as a person. I enjoyed my time with him at the 42nd and 20th Attack Squadrons. Prayers to you and your family during this difficult time.
