Jacklin's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jacklin "Jackie" Fontaine, who left us peacefully on December 31, 2024 - Born on August 5, 1962 in Columbus, Ohio.

Jackie grew up between Ohio, Louisiana, and Florida. Jackie resided in Florida for most of her adult life, with a few short stays in Louisiana. Florida is where Jackie called home and was a native to Brooksville for over 35 years.

Jackie was known for resilience and wittiness, as well as her care free spirit and compassion for others. She had a smile that could brighten up any room and an unmistakable infectious laugh, often bringing laughter to those around her. Jackie carried an old soul that kept her pleased by just the simplest things in life; whom always enjoyed herself a nice deal at a local thrift shop, a good movie night in, and one of her favorite diet sodas (also known as her coffee time). One of Jackie's most notable accomplishments and passions was her love for architectural drafting.  Some of Jackie's fondest memories were of her vacations in the Smoky Mountains and the Bahamas, with the regret of never reaching that trip to the Rockies.

As a longtime resident of Northbrook Health and Rehabilitation, Jackie managed to build strong relationships with the staff over the years. The family would like to thank those at Northbrook, for all of the ongoing dedicated compassion shown to their mother through out the years. The family would also like to take this time in thanking; an extended thank you towards the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Lakeland, for the outstanding care they received during their mother's lasting days.

Jackie is survived by her children; a son, Jimmy Dentro Jr.; three daughters, Angel Taylor, Chasiti Decker, and Demi Turcott; her siblings; one brother, George Scott; three sisters, Robin Brown, Jody Scott, and Michelle Soldo; six grandchildren, Kade Taylor, Kate Dentro, Kasey Decker, Karissa Decker, Eli Decker, and Kinley Turcott; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marcella Hatfield Scott; her paternal grandparents, George and Retha Garren Scott; her maternal grandparents, Sherman and Maysie Dotson Hatfield.

Her memory will forever remain in our hearts, and her spirit will continue to guide us.

We take comfort in knowing that our mother is finally at rest, leaving us with: "wonderful memories and valuable lessons in resilience and how to keep the spirit of joy at hand- no matter what life may bring your way."
