Jackie Leanne Brown, age 55, of Shreve, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025. Born in Canton, Ohio on April 30, 1969, to the late Barbara Price and the late Robert Johnston, Jackie led a life defined by generosity, honesty, and spirituality.
Jackie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Perry Brown, her mother, Barbara Price, her father, Robert Johnston, and her sister, Janece Gilbert. She is survived by her step-son, Johnathon Brown; her sisters, Laurie Plunkett Starling and Tammy Jones; her brother, Jimmy Francis; her step-father, Charlie Price; her step-mother, Marilyn Johnston; loving nieces, nephews, and cousins; her best friend, Deanna Wheatley; and her faithful companion, her dog Dutchess.
Jackie’s giving nature was evident in everything she did. She consistently put others before herself, offering help and support whenever needed. This selflessness touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
A woman of many talents, Jackie was an elegant pianist whose music deeply moved all who heard her play. Jackie was also an excellent cook who brought joy and comfort to family gatherings and celebrations, creating memories that will be cherished forever. She was a devoted member of Nashville Global Methodist Church, where she shared her musical gifts as a handbell player and contributed her sewing talents to church projects. Sewing was not just a service for Jackie but a cherished hobby through which she expressed her creativity and care for others.
Jackie's loving presence, generous spirit, artistic abilities, and genuine character will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and church community. Her legacy of kindness, honesty, and selflessness lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held in May in Shreveport, Louisiana. Details will be announced at a later date. The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time.
