I am so incredibly sorry for the loss of Cousin Jack.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the memories we shared growing up. Some of my favorites are from family birthdays and get-togethers, just running around, laughing, and enjoying being kids together.
One memory that stands out so clearly is an Easter weekend in Spokane at our grandparents’ house. We all had our Nintendo DS’s and thought they were the greatest thing. Running around the house, hiding and chatting on our DS’s with each other the whole time. At one point, Jack and I were racing super fast down the stairs into the basement, and he accidentally hit my hand, sending my DS flying all the way across the room. We both paused in disbelief for a second,(when I say it flew, I mean it FLEW! I was so sure it was going to be broke! 😆) and then we laughed so hard we ended up on the ground, our tummys and cheeks hurt from all the laughing. We probably laughed a good 10 minutes over it, and then the rest of the weekend we would just look at each other, like we knew what we’re thinking (it was about the DS) and start laughing again. It was such a simple moment, but one filled with so much joy, and it’s something I’ll always remember.
Even though we weren’t very close as adults, I will always cherish those memories and the laughter we shared growing up. Jack will be remembered for those moments of joy, and I’m grateful I got to experience them.
Sending love and heartfelt condolences . He will be deeply missed.
