Joining the Air Force at a young age, Jack demonstrated exceptional dedication to his nation. His service was a testament to his courage, selflessness, and unwavering sense of duty. Jack was a beloved father to his son, Antoine Lane and to his daughter, Gabrielle Lane, as well as a cherished father figure to his son, Jack Lane Jr. He was a loving grandfather to Raheem, Nijah, Ebony, Kiara, and Sharonda Lane, Jasmine Hamilton, and Zyvonte Minter, and his bond with each of them was uniquely special. Each grandchild inherited a piece of Jack's resilient spirit, ensuring his legacy will continue to thrive.

Despite being predeceased by his beloved wife, Melcenia Lane, Jack's strong character ensured that he remained a pillar of support and a source of inspiration for his family. His grandchildren, in particular, looked up to him as a role model, learning the virtues of perseverance, integrity, and independence from him.
