Jack's obituary
Jack Cunningham, born on June 11, 1943, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2024. A true patron of the simple pleasures in life, Jack found joy in the savory delight of shrimp, the refreshing tastes of Pepsi and Budweiser, and the soulful tunes of George Strait. His heart was truly at peace when he was on the water, engaging in fishing, boating, or water-skiing. The color blue held a special place in his heart, reflecting his deep love for the tranquility of the sea.
Perhaps Jack's most defining quality was his big heart, which he wore proudly on his sleeve. He was a man who held his wife, daughters and nephew dear. He passed knowing that they loved him well to the end. His passion for life was matched only by his profound ability to forgive, to let go of grudges, and to encourage others to do the same. "Don't hold a grudge, it’s ok to say sorry," he used to say, and these words of wisdom will forever resonate with those he left behind. He was raised to know Jesus and that upbringing enabled Jack to have a close relationship with Him in his last days. He taught his daughters to remember the good and forgive the rest.
Jack will be remembered for his phenomenal skills as a builder, and many would argue that he was, indeed, the best ever. But more than that, his legacy will be one of forgiveness and reconciliation, a testament to the immense kindness and empathy he carried within him.
We will forever miss our beloved husband and father. But we take comfort in knowing that his spirit, his teachings, and his love will continue to guide and inspire us. Goodbye, Jack. You will always be in our hearts. Love, Brenda, Sam, Terri, Michael, and Joni
