I was shocked to hear that Jack had passed, I had just seen him in Walmart a few weeks before and he sounded good. I was looking forward to having him over for dinner soon. I worked with his Wife Martha long ago at Perinatal for Shasta County and she was just an Angel. When she got sick she asked me to look out for Jack because we all knew she was his heart and he would have a hard time without her. As it turned out Jack started work over at Mental Health when I was there and I got to train him on the computer program. He’s not a big fan of the computer and I gave him some tricks of the trade to help reduce his stress. He is so good with people but the computer paperwork part was hard. We laughed and trudged through it side by side and Martha and I just kept reassuring him he could do it. Jack has helped many people not just here but everywhere he went. But when I think of Jack i think of how loving he was to Martha, their relationship, how they made each other laugh, how the supported each other and now how grateful I am that Jack and Martha are now in heaven together where there is no more sickness, no more pain, no sorrow, no sadness only peace and Gods Love. I will miss you Jack but I’m so happy that you are finally with your girl.

I just found out yesterday about Jack's passing. I am so forlorn. I worked with Jack at Shasta County. We were drug counselors together. I loved Jack. He was a great friend ,a tremendous support and as many have said, a tremendous, caring being who made a difference to everyone who knew him. My prayers to Jack's family. He loved spending the holidays with you. He is united with his beloved wife forever.

Jack, Martha and his brother Bill were all over at our home for Christmas. Jessie was about 2 years old. Jack was watching Jessie play with the new toy him and Martha just gave her, when he realized that Bill was Jessie's grandfather. He just explained out of no where, "You are a grandpa!!" then "That means your an OLD Man." Then started to laugh; that deep belly laugh he had when he found something really funny. His brother Bill just rolled his eyes and said, "I took you 2 years to realize that."
Jack made a difference in so many lives while he was here. I know he is in a better place with the ones he loved.
