Jack's obituary
Jack Nicholas Camp, 82, of Suwanee, GA, passed away on March 27, 2024. He was born on June 24, 1941, in Grand Rapids, MI.
Jack was a man of great kindness and gentility, whose dry wit and quick humor endeared him to all.
He attended Lee High School and graduated in the class of 1959. He later pursued higher education at the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University.
During his career, Jack worked at the Burroughs Corporation, which later became Unisys, as a senior budget advisor on government contracts. He worked in various cities across the US and retired while working at the Duluth, GA office in 2006.
In his leisure time, Jack enjoyed playing tennis, bowling, and golf. He also loved to watch NASCAR and all things U-M. One of his very favorite activities was taking his dog, Gracie, for walks and sitting on the front porch with her.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Judy Camp; daughter, Jacqueline (Camp) Sandiford, and son-in-law, David Sandiford; stepdaughter, Lauri (Bohanan) Cockfield, and son-in-law, Zack Cockfield; stepdaughter, Lisa Bolen; grandchildren, Allison Sandiford, Britt Goodling, Amanda Sandiford, Molly Sandiford, Christopher Goodling, Tripp Bolen, and Addison Bolen; and sister, Patricia Bartlett.
Jack was preceded in death by his father, Jack Calvin Camp, and mother, Helen Wilma (Bergsma) Camp.
A celebration of life gathering will be planned at a later date to honor and remember Jack's life and legacy.
