JaCena's obituary
The Life of Ja’Cena Shamel Cole
In Review
Ja’Cena Shamel Cole was born on Friday, February 22, 1985, during the marriage of Leon and Jacqueline (Mosley) Cole of Meridian, Mississippi. She transitioned to be with The Lord on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at home where she lived with Le’Ondra in Dallas, Texas since January 2023.
In December 1989, she moved with her father, her siblings, Darris, Jerrick and Le’Ondra to Honolulu, Hawaii on the island of Oahu.
After being on the island for 2 days, we became members of The City of Refuge Christian Church where the late Dr. Wayne E. Anderson was pastor. She loved going to church and singing. Pastor Anderson, even, told her when she was 5 years old that she would be singing and writing songs.
Around 7 years of age, she began having seizures which continued into this present year of 2024.
But she did not allow it to hinder her from singing or loving gospel music like she did. She was a fighter throughout her life while showing determination to be victorious, so she could be seizure-free.
She was an optimistic person, despite her challenges.
She attended various elementary schools on the island, even home schooled by her dad. She attended Waianae High School and Mililani High School.
In 2004, she moved back to Meridian, Mississippi to live with her mother.
She leaves to cherish your memories, her father, Leon Cole (Mililani, Hawaii), her mother, Jacqueline Naylor (Meridian, Mississippi).
Three sisters, LaRaven Mosley (Meridian, Mississippi) and (children > Dakota, J-Azhon, Octavius Holt & Kanye Adams), Nakish Mosley (Mobile, Alabama) and son, Roderick Jones, and Le’Ondra Cole (Dallas, Texas).
Two brothers, Darris Cole (wife, LeighAnn & sons, Donovan & Desmond / Henderson, Las Vegas, Nevada). Jerrick Cole (Dallas, Texas) > children (Joselyn, JayAnna & Joaquin), plus aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
Some of our family members have chosen to share their fond memories of Ja’Cena.
Thank you, everyone for your love, support and understanding shown during this time in our lives.
May God continues to bless each, and every one of you. In Jesus Name! Amen, Amen, & Amen!
