Isidro's obituary

Isidro "Sid" Delacruz III, age 63, passed away on October 19, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. Born on October 18, 1962. Lelo brought joy and laughter to those around him with his humor, love of life, and unmistakable presence.

Lelo shared his life with his beloved partner Juanita Hernandez. He was a devoted father figure to Aida Hernandez and Teresa, a cherished grandfather to Bonieta Smith, Lisette Vega, Leroy Vega, Jasmine Hernandez, Danaisha Smith, Davaeiya Mathews, DaShyrah Mathews, Dashanti Mathews, Dj Mathews, Michael, and Donald, also his special aunt and a few brothers. Preceded in death, Mary Lou Richards-Hernandez. His family was the heart of his world, and he found great joy in spending time with them—especially during cookouts filled with music and laughter.

A man of many passions, Lelo lived life with vibrant energy. He had a deep love for Tejano music and could often be found listening to it daily while preparing food on the grill or relaxing at home. He was an avid sports fan who cheered enthusiastically for the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, and “Da Bulls.” Whether it was basketball season or baseball playoffs, Lelo never missed a game.

He also had a fondness for classic entertainment—spending countless hours watching The Three Stooges and old western movies. These shows brought him comfort and laughter throughout the years.

Lelo enjoyed exploring new Mexican restaurants and was always up for trying something new. He loved shopping for fresh clothes—especially jerseys, tennis shoes, hats, and jewelry—and took pride in his style. His appreciation for older cars led him to collect numerous car-related memorabilia over the years.

Earlier in life, Lelo worked as a factory worker—a role that reflected his strong work ethic and dedication. But it was in his personal life where he truly shined: playing card games with family members late into the night or cracking jokes that left everyone laughing.

He will be remembered as a funny soul who loved tacos almost as much as he loved making others smile. His legacy lives on through every backyard barbecue filled with music and every shared memory captured in photos and videos that will be treasured forever.

“You will be missed more than you know,” echoes the sentiment of those who knew him best. “We will keep eating tacos and cooking out for you like you showed us how to do.”

Rest peacefully Lelo—you are forever loved. May peace and love be with you always until we meet again.
