Background
Thank you so much for all your support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate if you could donate to Isabell's memorial fund to provide the University Hospital with a Caring Cradle. Unfortunately, Izzy's family did not have access to a Caring Cradle during their time in the hopsital, which significantly limited the amount of time they could spend with Izzy after her birth. They are asking for donations in lieu of flowers to provide this service to other families who have to experience this unimaginable loss.
A Caring Cradle is a specialized, cooling bassinet designed to support families who have experienced a stillbirth or loss of an infant. Its primary purpose is to give grieving parents the "gift of time," allowing them to stay with their baby in their hospital room for hours or even days, rather than having to be separated from their baby immediately. For many parents, the shock of loss makes it difficult to process the "goodbye" in just a few minutes. This gives parents unhurried space and time to bond with their baby and create memories, which can be essential for emotional and mental healing after the death of their baby.
Donations can be made through this site or directly to the Holt/Breisch family via cash, check, Zelle or Venmo (@Dylan-Holt-20). This idea has already been discussed with Labor & Delivery and women and children services at the University if Utah who are excited and very grateful for the ability to provide a Caring Cradle to other grieving parents.
