I was so saddened to hear the news about my uncle’s passing. He was an amazing human being. He was a wonderful Pastor, husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family. He touched so many lives. He was friendly and outgoing. He was compassionate and caring. He was a true man of God.
My uncle was never ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He preached the word with love and conviction. He was an inspiration to all those who were affected by his passing. He will be truly missed by so many. I love you uncle RIP.

I don’t remember all the details, but I remember being a young child, out of town at a family reunion. For whatever reason, you were in charge of watching all the younger kids for an hour or so. We played games and laughed so hard and called you “King-la-who-lots-of-poppa”…. Basically something you had made up during a game 😂. We had so much fun calling you that for the rest of the trip and 40 years later, that memory still sticks! My fun-loving uncle. You were such a visionary. This still doesn’t feel real. So many memories from childhood to adulthood but what I will always admire most is your passion for family. Well, that and the famous “look-away” shot that you taught Ronnie and I. Walking down to Collier City Park after dinners at big ma house having fun and shooting hoops with all the uncles. Sigh 😢. I will miss you sitting at the head of the table, fulfilling a role that’s sure to be harrrd to replace. I’ll miss hearing you say “Arrrreee you readddyyy” with child-like excitement! I know your soul is where it ought to be so I’ll simply say, well done unc. Say hello to the rest of the family. My uncle, the visionary. I love you.

Dear Auntie Gwen,
I was heartbroken to hear about Uncle Iry’s passing. Please know that my thoughts are with you during this incredibly difficult time. Uncle Iry was such a kind and wonderful person, and I will always remember how much he loved and adored you. Whenever my family would visit he always made us feel welcomed. He will definitely be missed.
