Irene L. Liporto of St Petersburg, Florida

June 11, 1945 - May 14, 2024

Irene L. Liporto, 78, of St Petersburg, Florida passed away on Tuesday, May 14th, 2024.  She was born on June 11, 1945, to Irene Jean and Joseph Germain. Irene was raised in Lowell, MA and graduated from Keith Hall High School.  She went on to earn her degree from Northeastern University.  

As a trained X-Ray Technician, she had a successful career in the Healthcare Industry, spanning 20 years at Tewksbury State Hospital. 

Irene married the love of her life, Ernest P. Liporto on June 13, 1965 and would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary this coming June.  They spent the early years of their married life in North Andover MA and the golden years of their retirement in St Petersburg, FL. 

Irene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed being active whether gardening, walking, swimming or dancing.  Irene and Ernest loved to travel and were avid “Cruisers”, sharing experiences with friends and lighting up the ballroom dance floor.  She was compassionate and generous to all she encountered.  She will be missed dearly and will live through those that knew and loved her. 

She is survived by her husband, Ernest Liporto of St Petersburg, FL; her daughter, Michelle Liporto of Kaneohe, HI; her son Michael Liporto and his wife Bethany of North Andover, MA and their children Grace and Emma; and her feline companion Ayana.

Irene and Ernest support many charities to help local and global community needs.  Memorial donations may be made to any of the following in her name:  Doctors Without Borders, St. Jude Hospital
