Irene's obituary
Irene Delores Early sadly passed away at the age of 86 on October 7, 2023 in Lenexa, KS. Irene was a graduate of West Side High School in Newark, NJ. She went on to become a teller at a bank and this is where she met her husband, Bill. After marrying and having children she became a full time stay at home mom. She was a devout Christian and served at her local church, Barryville United Methodist Church, Barryville, NY, as the Superintendent of Sunday School. Irene also sang in the church choir, and was a girl scout leader for many years. Irene was a true animal lover and often told stories of her childhood dog, Cindy. She loved all dogs and they loved her equally in return. We often called Irene the "dog whisperer".
In later years, she received many accolades and awards from Embassy Suites for her dedication and hard work during her career. The hobbies and activities she enjoyed most were spending time with family, playing cards and games, collecting Hollywood movie star trivia, watching classic movies, arts and crafts, and doing word search puzzles.
Irene will always be remembered for how fiercely she loved her family and how she made everyone feel deeply cared for. She was truly a loving soul with a warm smile and anyone who knew her was deeply blessed as she was always very present when you were in her company. She embodied the grace and wisdom needed to succeed at humanity's most important role, being a mom. Remembering everyone's birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions was part of what made her so special. She never missed calling to wish you the best and to "take care, stay healthy". Irene leaves a lasting legacy of love and family.
Irene is survived by her children Cheryl (Joe) Mundweiler, John (Grecia) Early and Donna Moncelsi; her 10 grandchildren, Joseph (Chelsea) Mundweiler, Jennifer (Andrew) Buser, Daniel (Carolyn) Mundweiler, Brianna (Alex) Burris, Danielle Moncelsi, Vincent Moncelsi, Kianna Early, Kaitlin Early, Kevin Early and Kristian Early; 4 great-grandchildren, Charlie, Ryann and Hudson Buser and Jax Mundweiler. Irene is predeceased by her parents Theodore and Anna Girrbach, husband William Early, and son-in-law Vincent Moncelsi.
Irene requested a celebration of life be held in her honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Organization (www.alz.org) can be made in Irene's name.
