Irene (Mandravelis) Destefano, 73, of Ipswich passed away on November 1, 2018. Born in Lynn, MA on July 22, 1945 to the late Rose Mandravelis. Irene resided in Lynn and Swampscott most of her adult life before moving to Derry, NH and later Ipswich. Irene graduated from high school in Nashua NH and returned to school in her late 40's where she graduated with honors from NSCC in Lynn, receiving her Associate's Degree.

Irene found such joy in her grandchildren and that is how we will remember her. Irene is survived by her daughter, Kim DeStefano of Lynn and her son, Matthew DeStefano and his wife Melissa of Danvers and her cherished grandchildren, Madison and Alexis Wise and Cole DeStefano. Her brothers Phillip Madravelis and his wife Kathy of Foxboro and David Mandravelis of Prentiss, ME as well as a niece and nephew, Ashley and Joseph Mandravelis. Irene was predeceased by brothers Paul and Peter Mandravelis and a sister Mary Dracopoulos. Irene will be greatly missed by all the hearts she touched. Services will be private.

A limb has fallen from the family tree
I keep hearing a voice that says "Grieve not for me"
Remember the best times, the laughter, the song.
The good life I lived while I was strong
Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you
Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest
Remembering all, how truly I was blessed
Continue traditions, no matter how small
Go on with your life, don't worry about falls
I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin
Until the day comes we're together again.
