It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Irene Asta Johnson (maiden name Irene Asta Frieda Widmann) on the 25th of August, 2022. Born on the 15th of January, 1933, in Pforzheim, Germany,  Irene lived a life of adventure, independence, and resilience.  She lived through a childhood in WWII Germany, married a US Army man, and moved to the United States to raise her three children.  She hated Texas and loved Colorado.

She left this world holding the hand of her husband Jack R Johnson, and with her daughters, Diana F Perkins and Liane F Chance close by.  

Irene was predeceased by her son, Michael R Johnson. His loss broke her heart.

Throughout her life, Irene kept her head high throughout many trials.  We follow her example... "I will wail, but by God I will wail in private!"
