It’s been years that I sit down and talk to her face-to-face, but it just seems like yesterday. When I visit our home in South Nyack, New York, when I rang the doorbell, I was greeted by my aunt saying who is it me stating that it’s Joe and Mark is Lee home. yes, she supplied softly with a smile on her face come in, sit down, please upstairs. As she began to walk toward her recliner to continue watching her daytime soap opera stories what she loved so much by her working nights, she would take them and watch them pretty much on the weekend if she wasn’t sitting at the Sewing machine. As her lovely companion, wolf barked stating that we have visitors. As we all left, she reminded us that we need to be good boys and stay out of trouble troubles easy to get into but hard to get out of words spoken so true. That picture or that scene has been edged in my brain for life. That’s one of many fond memories I have of my aunt Iona.

My heartfelt condolences to the Parker family. Ms. Iona Parker leaves behind a powerful legacy that continues to touch lives. I was personally blessed by that legacy when I met her daughter, Ms. Rosemary Parker, during my time at the University of Maryland.
Rosemary and family, I pray that God comforts you during this difficult time.

Just knowing a sliver of the Parker family has shown me how much Mom poured out of herself. God bless her.

Auntie Iona was a beautiful loving person who was so concerned about her family and others. Her beautiful smile spoke volumes. She loved her family and Church family. I would love when she did the church announcements. She would say," Don't forget the noon day prayer, remember the family that prays together, stays together. " In our Family she was a beautiful Sister-in-law and Auntie. You will be missed but loved in our hearts forever and always 🥰😇💔🕊

I never got to meet Iona, but I have had the pleasure to meet Horace and he is a pleasure to work with. Judging by the smile and the way she is, he definitely takes some of her characteristics. She was very loved and had a wonderful family and has been called home. Where she now is just waiting, may seem like only a blink of and eye our lives we have but we are merely managing what we were asked to by the lord. She gave us wonderful gifts through her contributions of life, from being a wife, and a mother and so much more. Thank you.
