Inez's obituary

Inez June Batt, from Fish Haven, Idaho, passed away at the Gables of North Logan on October 25, 2020 at the age of 80 due to complications following a short struggle with dementia.

Inez was born on September 7, 1940 in Floydada, TX to her parents, Leonard and Geneva Chambers. She graduated from Amarillo High in 1958 and married her husband, Daniel Batt, in 1961. She traveled extensively throughout her husband’s Air Force career, which relocated them to numerous places in the United States and Germany. Whatever the location she quickly found something to keep her occupied, whether it was volunteer work or employment. Throughout her life she was admired and commended for her integrity and work ethic. Inez excelled in any career opportunity and spent 10 of those years owning and running her own business. She retired in 2000 from the packaging industry in which she received several accommodations and awards for her excellence.

Inez had an iconic whistle which could be heard from blocks away and was a force of nature. She is remembered as a “class act”, always had a firm hand shake to everyone she met, and was determined - she never wavered from her sense of doing the right thing.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel Batt; daughter, Shannon Waldrep; her granddaughters; Danielle Breedlove, and Amanda Waldrep; great granddaughter, Ava Breedlove and great grandson, James Breedlove. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Geneva Chambers.

The cremation will take place on Friday, October 30th. A small celebration of life will be held by the family in memory of Inez. The family is grateful for the condolences - they ask in lieu flowers, if so inclined, please make a contribution to the Alzheimer’s Association.
