Indrani's obituary
Indrani Correia or Kam as many knew her, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on April 8th, 2023, in Georgetown, Guyana, after a short yet courageous battle with cancer. She was 70 years old.
Indrani was born on October 5th, 1952, and grew up in Campbellville, Guyana. She attended Saint Joseph High School, where she graduated in 1971. The same year, she started her career as an Officer in charge of Proof Department at the National Bank of Industry and Commerce. Indrani was a dedicated and hardworking employee, and in 1982, she graduated as a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers. She went onto to spend 19 years at the bank.
In 1977, Indrani married the love of her life, Desmond Correia, and together they raised five children, Marie, Camille, James, Desmond, and David. She was a devoted and caring mother who always put her family first.
In 1991, Indrani embarked on a new journey with Desmond and started their own company. She was passionate about her work and like many things she poured her heart and soul into making it a success.
Indrani was an incredibly strong, kind and generous person who touched the lives of many. She was the daughter of Sookranie (Rosie) and the late James Temaul of Campbellville, and the sister of Nel Dent (UK), the late Sav Moreton (St Lucia), and the late Christopher Temaul (USA). She was also the grandmother of Elina, Bryce, and Darian, and the mother-in-law of Diego, Angela, Tarana, and Michelle.
Indrani will be deeply missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her legacy of love, kindness, and hard work will continue to inspire all who knew her
