Update from Aug. 23, 2021

We wanted to send a heartfelt thank you to those who attended Ilda's service on Saturday in-person or online. If you weren't able to attend the service, you are welcome to view the recording here: https://youtu.be/9vvTeMcXyJ8?…

We are so grateful for all of the generous donations to ReadWorks, Rosie's Place and Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in Ilda's memory. It is wonderful to know that support is headed toward organizations that make a real difference in people's lives.

We have received so many beautiful cards, emails, texts and phone calls; it has been wonderful to connect with so many people who loved her and whose lives she touched. We will be sending out memorial prayer cards over the next few weeks to those who requested them. Thank you for all of your support in this difficult time.

She wanted to make it clear that she never felt like she “fought” breast cancer, or “battled” breast cancer, but that she made the most of living with it.

Ilda was the second daughter of Eugenio and Irene Carreiro, both …
