Ila's obituary
Ila Mae (Clewley) Quirion, 92, wife of the late Wardell (Delly) Quirion, peacefully passed away May 10th at her daughter's home in Lexington, VA. She was born on September 26, 1931 in Eddington, Maine, the daughter of Harold A. and Edna (Coles) Clewley. She attended Bangor High School and was employed for many years at Freese's Department Store and later at St. Joseph Hospital. She will always be remembered for her strong will which served her well for the last two years while living with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Some of her fondest memories include the years she spent with Delly in the home they built on Kings Mountain in Orrington; summers at camp on Beech Hill Pond and Branch Lake entertaining family, friends and especially her grandchildren; riding the back roads with Delly every hunting season when she would be his spotter for partridge; and the last years of Delly's life spent in their new home on Forest Knoll Drive in Orrington. Her move to Virginia in 2017 brought new adventures and she quickly learned to love the warmer winters, beautiful vistas of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and once again enjoying rides through the Shenandoah Valley. Ultimately she will always be remembered for the immense joy it brought her to hear of her family’s accomplishments and know they were happy and successful. Her grandsons will be forever grateful to her for opening her home to them through the years as they transitioned into their adult lives.
Surviving are daughters, Debra (Richard) Corrington of Lexington, VA and Cathy (Frank) Dill of Bangor, Maine, cherished grandchildren who she devoted so much of her life to: Caleb (Mindy) Boulier, Emily (Matthew) Cote, Benjamin Boulier, Lucas Martin, Adam Martin, Chelsey Dill and Jonathan Dill. She was the proud great-grandmother of Chase and Amelia Cote, and Ansel and Eli Martin. She also leaves a special sister-in-law, Evelyn Seidel, as well as many dear friends and relatives, and her feline companion, Moxie. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, brothers: Harold, Donald and Gayland Clewley; and her beloved feline companion of 15 years, Bimmer.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Teresa and Jordan and Connections Plus Health + Hospice, and especially the compassionate care provided by TLC Care (Tiffany, Lisa, Courtney, Jessica and Brooke) in the last months of her life.
Arrangements were made by Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington, VA. At Ila's request there will be no funeral or memorial service.
