Idell's obituary
Mrs. Idell "Auntie" Clark, 100 years young, of St. Louis, MO, passed away on December 31, 2023 into God’s graces peacefully and in the comfort of her home. Idell was born on October 28, 1923 to the late Leefora Jones and Johnnie Williams. In 1934, she met her late husband, Willie (Bud) Clark at the age of 11, and they wed on December 27, 1941. They were married 70 years before he passed. Though they had no birth children of their own, Idell had a very kind heart and nurturing spirit and she was known as mother, god-mother, and auntie to uncountable loved ones.
After many years of caretaking, Idell spent her time keeping her body active by going on walks and she kept her mind sharp by keeping an active social life, playing many word games like crosswords as well as card games with friends.
Idell was predeceased by her mother, father, husband and neice/god daughter Joyce Richardson. She is survived by two adopted sisters, her god son Roy Cody (Sharon), god daughter Marchell and great nephew Jacobi Craig (Cortney Craig), as a host of nieces, nephews, God-children and close family and friends.
Idell was a very active and independent woman all the way through to her late nineties but in her last years, she was shown how truly she was loved by all of the neighbors, family and friends that bonded together to help keep her as independent as possible. The family would like to extend the utmost sincere thanks and appreciation for all of the individuals that helped Idell with the smallest to the biggest tasks that allowed her to be most comfortable and at home, until her last days.
