Ida's obituary
Ida Petrella Angelone, lovingly known as “Saint Ida” to those who knew her best, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026, surrounded by the family she cherished above all else. She was born on July 5, 1965, and from the very beginning lived a life defined by compassion, strength, and unwavering love.
Ida was the heart of her family—a devoted wife, a fiercely loving mother, and a constant source of comfort and guidance. She is survived by her beloved husband, Patrick; her daughter, Stefanie; her sister, Sandra; and Andrew, the bonus son she embraced as her own. Each of them carries forward her spirit, her kindness, and her enduring lessons about what it means to love deeply and live selflessly.
To her children, Ida was the strongest woman they have ever known. In recent years, she faced significant health challenges with courage and grace, never allowing her struggles to overshadow the love she gave so freely. Through it all, she remained a pillar of resilience—showing those around her what true strength looks like.
Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, her family finds comfort in the precious gift of time they were granted in her final years. Those years were filled with meaningful moments and cherished milestones, including the joy of witnessing her daughter’s wedding—an occasion that meant the world to her.
Ida’s life was a testament to unconditional love, quiet sacrifice, and extraordinary strength. She was, in every sense, too good for this world, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of life will be held in her home state in May in her honor. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
