To Ida's family and friends,
I regret that I will not be able to attend her memorial service on Sunday, but want to share what I wrote to the University of Delaware staff the day after she passed.:
Ida joined our UD team in January 2023, working primarily on our AP team. She just recently transitioned into a purchasing role, which was, in a sense, going back to her roots. Some of you may know that Ida retired from Rutgers in 2020 after a distinguished 38-year career that included a tenure as the head of the RU-Newark Purchasing Department. My professional relationship with Ida dates back more than a dozen years, and I was thrilled when she expressed an interest in coming out of retirement to help us build our operation here at UD. She was always professional, willing to accept any assignment, and handled her work with attention to detail and efficiency. She will be missed as a part of this team.
Even more so, she will be missed as the sweet, kind person we all knew. Every time I saw her on zoom, Ida had that big smile on her face, we greeted each other warmly, with her replying in that north Jersey accent of hers, "Hey, Dave, how ya doin'?'" I am saddened by her loss.

Ida and I worked on projects together at Rutgers. She was so wonderful to be around. She was always smiling and made everyone feel comfortable around her. When she told me that she was retiring, I was sad to see her go but happy to know that she could enjoy more leisure time with family. I am very sad to learn of her passing. Her shining light will continue in the memory of everyone who knew her! Rest in peace, Ida! Thank you for being such a good friend and coworker!

I'm so very sorry to hear about Ida's passing. I'm so saddened by this. We went to school together. I always remember her smile. She always till now had that same cute smile. I remember our 2nd grade teacher loved her 😁 I believe our teacher wished she had a whole class just like her. She was a sweet little girl that grew up to be a sweet and kind adult. May she rest easy 🙏🏾 gonna way too soon 🙏🏾 😢 💔

Ida (my beautiful Godmother) was the person to always show up. Throughout the difficult times in my life, I could always count on her to be there (for me, my mom, & my family), to check in, and to simply be an ear to listen. Not only was she there during the rough times, she was always a big supporter of all my accomplishments and always there to celebrate the good things happening in my life. This love she had for me did not just stop with me, but was extended to my two boys and pups. Always checking in, asking for pictures, and always remembering to celebrate their birthdays and holidays. Growing up, my mom would always say “Ida has a heart of gold.” That statement could not be more true. Ida was loving, compassionate, and a beautiful person inside and out. How blessed was I to have Ida as my Godmother!! I will always cherish the memories I have with her. She will be forever in my heart. Sending Pat, Stefanie, Andy, Sandra, Gram, Pop, and all that knew and loved Ida strength and love.

Idy - May you rest in peace with no worries, alongside our family members who too are so missed. How we looked forward to our Belmar Sand Castle days, the reminiscing & the laughs. Gone too soon, but your family knows you will be watching over them still. Love you, Idy.
