Ian James David Swanson passed away at the age of 65 in Coral Gables, FL. He was born and raised in the United Kingdom, and graduated from King Edwards School in Godalming, UK. He worked for Witkoff Group and MDM Development as a property manager in Miami, FL.

Ian was one of three children born to the late Nansi & David Desgrange Swanson. He was the beloved husband of Aurita. Ian will forever be remembered by his devoted sisters, Elizabeth (Bessie) Swanson and Ruth Swanson; his precious sons, Charles Swanson and Jean-Luc Fontaine; his mother-in-law, Balvi Espinosa; sisters-in-law: Amanda Lemus and Esperanza Lemus; brother-in-law: Óscar Lemus along with countless friends and family, such as the former wife’s family, the Chaston’s, who still hold him dear in their hearts, whom were all blessed to know him.

Ian married Aura (“mi amor”) in Coral Gables, FL in 2023. He was always growing—whether through his work, his love of language, or his faith. He loved life and tried to live every day to the fullest.

Ian had as much fun as he could, spending time with the people closest to him. Yet, he always knew when to get serious and how to help. He was always a phone call away when things were tough and had a steady, guiding presence. A phrase he always told his children was to stay "cool, calm, and collected." He was their best friend and mentor.

He touched the lives of so many people with his smile and he always brought laughter, joy, and kindness wherever he went. Ian, a loving husband and father, will truly be missed by many.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Christ Journey Church located at 624 Anastasia Ave, Coral Gables, FL, 33134. The family will receive family and friends starting at 3:00pm.
