Looking through these photographs, I can't help but hear Ian's rich voice and laughter. He was always so amicable and open to new experiences. I am glad he got the opportunity to travel the world and lived such a full life before he was taken far too young. You can see how much of a catalyst he was among his friends in these photos and how much he loved being a father. You couldn't get much more chill than Ian Guns.

Rest in Peace, Ian. I glad we were friends during your time on earth.

Wonderful memories of Ian. A heart of gold. I attended Kits Secondary with him. Always positive and ready to lend a hand or an ear if someone needed it. Ian is missed and will always be missed by everyone that knew him. The world was a better place with him. Talented beyond belief.  Although I had not been in touch for many years I know he remained the wonderful person I remember. I know is watching over his family and I how much he loved all of you.
To the Guns family and friends: this news was so shocking it took a while to process. Such a tremendous human, Ian. It's probably true for most of us - me, at least - that the minute you think of him, there's warmth and humour. He filled hearts along his journey and made the world more fun and loving.  My thoughts are especially with Emma, Megan and Matthew. Sending love.

I have so many fond memories of Ian, back in the days when Matthew was a baby, Megan was a toddler, and Emma and I would hit the ski slopes every week. During the skiing off season, so many great nights hanging out at the Guns home enjoying a glass of wine. It has been a real honour knowing you, Ian!

In honour of you, we’ve made a donation to the VGH Cancer Research fund.
