As the City Engineer for the City of Dripping Springs from Feb/1995 to Dec/2017 (except for a leave of absence to serve on active duty with the USAF in 1999) I worked very closely with the City Council and Staff. However, I found Councilman and Mayor Pro Tem Williams to be not only a dedicated public servant in serving his community but he was a thoughtful and intelligent representative of the City Council. He always wanted to know the details of issues so that he could successfully debate his position and his vote, whether yea or nay. He took his role seriously but he was always aware that decisions made by the City Council would have some impact - good or not so good - on the citizens of the City. I learned a lot from Spider and have missed his simple wisdom since he left the City of DS. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends as we all lose a wonderful man.
