Howard's obituary
Howard Thomas Nixon, 69, of North East, MD passed away peacefully on June 08, 2022, surrounded by his family and loved ones at St. Francis Medical Center in Wilmington, De. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Howard was born July 10, 1952 to Mildred Schreiner and Thomas Nixon in Philadelphia, Pa. Growing up he was involved in Boy Scouts, till he graduated as an Eagle. In high school he participated on the football team for all four years, and began in the Civil Air patrol. Howard graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1970.
During his summer breaks he spent a lot of time at the family summer home in Avalon, NJ. He was an avid sports fan, and was a dedicated fan of the Eagles, Phillies, NasCar, and golf. Anyone who knew Howard well could tell you that he should have been a sports commentator. His passion for his sports was just as strong for his family, westerns, and dogs.
Howard began his career path at the Philadelphia Airport where he was at for many years, before he decided he needed a change. He worked for a small appliance company and Pit Ohio, before settling down at Graphic Packaging where he spent 22 years at before retiring in 2013.
Howard was married to Mary L. Laird on September 26, 1987. They were in love from the beginning, and were life long companions and best friends. Howard is now survived by his wife, Mary, 2 children, Michael and Katie, 3 grandchildren, Tyler, Katana, and Aurora, 2 sisters, Pam Schuster and Beatrice Gonglick, 3 nephews, 2 nieces, and 2 fur babies.
A celebration of life dinner will be held July 9th, 2022 at 101 Chesapeake Ridge Lane, Northeast, MD 21901, from 530 pm to 9pm, please feel free to stop by and show your respects.
