Background
Howard was diagnosed with AL Amyloidosis in Spring 2022 but he was believed to have had it for 4 years by the time he was diagnosed. At that point, he was told to have had Stage 4 AL Amyloidosis. This is a rare disease that has no known cure. It can be maintained but must be diagnosed early. This is a disease that needs more research to increase awareness, get earlier diagnosis, and improve treatments.
