Howie's obituary
Howie was born on December 24, 1964 to Howard Milton Givens, III and Betty Jane Meyers in Doraville, Georgia.
He grew up and attended Loganville High School and at age 17 enlisted in the army. He served honorably and was discharged as a corporal after 4 years of service. He received the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Expert Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Sharpshooter with M16 Rifle Bar, and the Sharpshooter Blade with Hand Grenade Bar. It was the period of his life he was most proud of.
Upon discharge from the Service he began his long career as a CEO and CFO consultant in multiple industries, the longest being his own firm Paratus Health for 30 years.
He recently retired to Cusick, Washington with family, where he was able to reunite with his friend, Sgt. Major Peter Motta which brought him great joy. He spoke often of his lifelong best friend from his youth, Alan Russell. And, Jim Dowdy was also a trusted and loyal friend. He was also very grateful for Al and Edna Shered and their family for their kindness and support. His daughters, Morgan and Rachel had his undying love.
Howard never knew a stranger and was a master storyteller. He spoke often of how full his life was, whether skydiving, traveling the globe or competitive jujitsu - and how lucky he felt to have lived most of his bucket list. He was looking forward to a slower pace of life and enjoying family.
Howard was predeceased by his father, Howard Milton Givens, III and his mother, Betty Jane Myers. He is survived by Sister, Sandra (Sandi) Erwin Goff; Daughters Morgan Riley Givens and Rachel Ansley Givens; Sister Christine Irene Evers, Brother-in-law Kory Lange Evers; Niece Megan Danielle Evers and Nephew Joshua Lange Evers; Sister Kathleen Jean Martin, Brother-in-law Timothy Wayne Martin, Nephew Christopher Shane Martin, Niece Kelly Jean Scheie; and Niece Katie Ariel Pitts and his second mom Barbara Jean Edwards.
