Background
We enthusiastically adopted The James Beard Foundation, which was suggested by Howard’s son, Brandon, because Howard was passionate about his career in the restaurant business, as a manager, chef, and owner. He was dedicated to serving others though the food industry. The James Beard Foundation’s programs align with Howard’s lifelong values because it aspires “to give chefs and industry professionals a voice and the tools they need to make real and meaningful change in their businesses and in their communities.” A donation in Howard’s memory can help grow community through food and its service, which not only helps keeps Howard’s memory alive but helps the world by addressing the primary need in Maslow’s hierarchy.
