Hortense's obituary
After a difficult battle with Breast Cancer, Hortense Wilson-Sellers passed away peacefully on February 9, 2022.
On June 6, 1960, Hortense was born to Hartful and Agnes Wilson in San Pedro, CA. After graduating from Regina Caeli, she went on to study Dental Hygiene at UCLA.
After the joyous birth of Marceda, Hortense decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and exceptional mother.Whether that was school or through her active duty service for the United States Air Force, she made it her mission to be the best mother for her child.
In 1998, Hortense met Roderick Sellers and immediately fell in love. They went on to be married for 11 years and had countless adventures together.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Hortense also loved playing cards, going to Disneyland, and enjoying all her favorite foods. She held an unwavering faith in God throughout her entire life, which she shared with those who surrounded her.
Hortense joins her mother and father, Hartful and Agnes Wilson, and her brother, James Kane, in Heaven. She is survived by her sisters, Teresa Brown and Shielda Jenkins, her brother, Donald Kane, brother in-law, Gerald Brown, sister in-law, Lena Kane, her husband, Roderick Sellers, daughter, Marceda Wright, son in-law, Andre Golden, step daughter, Keisha Swinson, and step grandson, Rashad Sampson. Sister and brother in-law, Charles and Mary Alice Townsend, brother and sister in-law, Jerry and Ida Woods She is survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Now that Hortense has passed into the arms of our Lord, we should remind ourselves that while this is the end of her physical life on Earth, it's the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her.
