It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Horfilda "Fiu Fiu" Mendez, who took her last breath on July 21, 2025, after a well-travelled journey and a well-fulfilled life. Born on the day of love, February 14, 1965, Horfilda, fondly referred to as Fiu Fiu, carried the essence of love and warmth throughout her life.

A woman of wisdom, wit, and an endearing bubbliness, Horfilda had the extraordinary ability to fill any room with joy and laughter. Her vibrant personality touched not only the hearts of her friends and family but anyone lucky enough to meet her.

Always full of sage words and advice, one of her key life lessons that will forever echo in our minds is 'Keep the faith during the storms'. Her resilience and unwavering faith through adversities made her not only an amazing individual but a beacon of strength for those around her.

Horfilda’s legacy is one that goes beyond titles and accomplishments. She was, above all, deeply proud of being the best wife, mother, friend, and family member. Her undying love, boundless generosity, and goodwill towards all shaped her into the exceptional woman she was.

This incredible woman was a testament to strength, loyalty, and unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her kind heart didn't know boundaries, her gentleness was infectious, and her wisdom was inherited by all who had the privilege to know her.

She leaves behind a precious legacy of love, wisdom, benevolence, strength, and loyalty. Her beautiful spirit will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who were fortunate to have crossed paths with such a remarkable soul.
