It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Horace Duke Jr., who left us in February 2026. Born on July 6, 1954, Horace, who was "Buddy" to all who knew him, was 71 years old.  His final wishes and disposition were carried out at Terry's Funeral Home. 

Buddy was born in Portland, Oregon, and attended Washington High School. He worked for many years at Pendleton Woolen Mills in Portland.  He attended St. Philip the Deacon Church, where he had many friends in the congregation.  The family would like to thank UCP Mentor Services and others who supported and helped Buddy over the years. 

Horace will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by his siblings, cousins, and a host of other family members and friends. He was dedicated to St. Philip's church and loved the congregation.  

Buddy did not want a funeral, so we request that all honor his memory in their own way by living their lives with the same compassion and caring that Buddy demonstrated.
