Hope Poley, 95, of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away on July 5, 2020 in Williamsburg, VA. She was born on December 26, 1924 in Hackensack, NJ, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Terhune) Schiefer. Hope was the last surviving family member of ten brothers and sisters. She married her husband Arthur Francis Poley on October 20, 1946. They were married over 50 happy years until Arthur’s death in 2001.

Hope worked for Arlington Central School District for 39 years, retiring at age 90 from the Overlook Primary School Food Service Department, leaving behind many fond memories and beloved friends and students.

Hope is survived by daughter Elizabeth (Elise) Rose Poley of Winnetka, CA; daughter Susan Marie Straumann of Woodstown, NJ; and son Arthur Francis Poley and granddaughter Jessica Lynn Poley of Williamsburg, VA.
