Background
On January 10th, beloved son, brother, and friend Hollis Jensen passed away suddenly at home. Loosing Hollis has left a hole in this world that extends beyond our family, beyond borders and into the lives of those he touched. My brother was not one to ask for charity. Hollis devoted his life to others, focusing on the helping others in every aspect of his short life.
In his time as an army military police officer, Hollis held a deep sense of justice and believed in service. In his personal life, Hollis developed a love of animals at a young age and was rarely seen without a dog at his side or on his lap. He would spend hours every day with his dog Kenai either playing fetch or just relaxing on the couch together. His was a life marred by near constant pain from lingering injuries from his military service. Hollis’ goal was for a simple life where he was surrounded by those he loved, not of wealth or fame. Home for Hollis was watching football, a day spend fishing, or playing with the pups outside. Loosing him has been the hardest moment of my life.
He is sorely missed, though he will always be remembered for his passion and compassion. We ask for your help for a young man taken too soon. He left us without warning, without a chance to say goodbye to the man that made such an impact on everyone around him. To give Hollis a final farewell, please donate whatever you can to help more service members like him who experienced trauma in their military service.
Pawsitivity is a service dog non-profit that trains service dogs at no cost for veterans, an endeavor that costs an average of $25,000 per animal. They prioritize the needs of veterans and pair them with a trained service dog that can help them achieve their goals. This improves not only their physical well being but also their emotional health and social interactions. Pawsitivity is a full member of the Animal Assisted Intervention International, the Association of Service Dog Providers for Military Veterans, and uses the same positive reinforcement techniques for training used by the US Army. Beyond providing veterans with service animals, Pawsitivity trains other service dog providers and has developed an app for pairing animals in shelters with service dog providers. They are a wonderful organization that would make Hollis proud. Contribute to Pawsitivity
